Cookie Policy
Cookies & similar technologies
This Cookie Policy explains how LaunchCraft Co uses cookies and similar technologies on launchcraftco.life. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. We are a Calgary digital marketing agency — not an AI platform or SaaS product company — and we use these technologies primarily to operate the site securely and, where you allow it, to understand how visitors use our pages.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and scripts that remember preferences or measure activity. Some cookies are strictly necessary for core functions. Others help us improve the site or measure marketing effectiveness and are optional.
2. How we ask for choices
On first visit (and after stored preferences expire), a cookie banner offers three controls:
- Accept all — allows necessary, analytics, and marketing categories described below;
- Reject all — keeps necessary cookies only;
- Customise — lets you toggle analytics and marketing preferences, then save.
Your choice is stored locally in the browser under the key lc_cookie_consent for approximately six months (about 180 days). After that period, or if you clear site data, the banner may appear again. Clearing local storage does not remove first-party or third-party cookies already set by other mechanisms; use browser tools for a full reset.
3. Cookie categories
3.1 Necessary cookies
These cookies and storage items are required for basic site operation: security signals, load balancing where applicable, remembering that you dismissed the consent banner, storing your consent choice, and enabling navigation features such as the mobile panel state when needed. Necessary technologies do not require optional consent under our banner model, but we still disclose them here for transparency.
Typical duration: session cookies expire when you close the browser; consent preference storage lasts about 180 days; some security cookies may last from minutes to one year depending on hosting configuration.
Typical vendors / sources: LaunchCraft Co first-party scripts on launchcraftco.life; hosting and edge infrastructure operators supporting delivery of the static site.
3.2 Analytics cookies
If accepted, analytics technologies help us understand aggregate traffic patterns — which pages are read, approximate geography at a coarse level, device categories, and referral sources. We use this information to improve content usefulness for Canadian organisations researching marketing programmes. Analytics are optional; Reject all or unticking Analytics in Customise will keep us from intentionally loading optional analytics tags.
Typical duration: 24 hours to 24 months depending on the analytics vendor’s defaults (for example, short-lived session markers versus longer unique visitor identifiers).
Typical vendors: When enabled for the studio site, industry-standard web analytics providers (such as Google Analytics or equivalent privacy-conscious alternatives we may configure). Exact tag deployment may change as we refine measurement; this policy remains the category-level disclosure.
3.3 Marketing cookies
If accepted, marketing cookies and pixels may help us measure whether visitors arriving from our own campaigns engage with programme pages, and may support retargeting or conversion measurement when we advertise the agency. Marketing technologies are optional. We do not require them to book a launch consult via the contact form.
Typical duration: 30 days to 13 months depending on advertising platforms’ cookie lifetimes.
Typical vendors: Advertising platforms we use for our own studio promotions when marketing cookies are accepted — which may include major search and social advertising networks. Client campaign pixels on client websites are governed by client privacy notices and are outside this site’s banner.
4. First-party local storage used by this site
Our front-end script stores cookie preference objects in local storage so the banner does not reappear every page load for users who already chose. That storage is first-party and limited to consent status and a timestamp. It is not a cross-site tracker.
5. Fonts and third-party requests
We load Syne and DM Sans via Google Fonts using preconnect and stylesheet links. Loading fonts from Google may result in network requests to Google’s servers. Font delivery is treated as part of presenting the site; if you prefer to avoid third-party font requests, browser extensions or OS-level controls can block them, though presentation may fall back to system fonts.
6. Durations summary
- Consent preference (
lc_cookie_consent): ~180 days - Session/security cookies: session to 12 months
- Analytics identifiers (when accepted): typically up to 24 months
- Marketing/advertising cookies (when accepted): typically up to 13 months
Vendors may update their own durations. Treat the ranges above as practical guidance rather than a laboratory certificate for every individual cookie name.
7. How to opt out or change preferences
You can:
- Use Reject all or Customise on the cookie banner;
- Clear site data for launchcraftco.life in your browser so the banner reappears;
- Block or delete cookies via browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and others document these steps);
- Use platform opt-outs where available, such as advertising industry tools and Google Ads settings for personalised ads;
- Enable Global Privacy Control or similar browser signals where supported — we will honour them to the extent our implementation recognises them for optional tags.
Note that necessary cookies cannot be fully disabled without impairing site function. Opting out of analytics or marketing does not reduce the quality of our paid agency services for contracted clients; this policy concerns the public marketing website.
8. Client websites we manage
When LaunchCraft Co implements tags on a client’s website as part of a programme (SEO instrumentation, conversion pixels, or marketing automation), those cookies are disclosed under the client’s policies. We advise clients on PIPEDA-aware consent patterns for Canadian audiences, but operational responsibility for client sites remains with the client organisation unless a written agreement says otherwise.
9. Updates
We may revise this Cookie Policy when vendors, banner behaviour, or law change. The “Last updated” date will be revised accordingly. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
